Description of Services: The Child Abuse and Sexual Assault (CASA) Unit investigates all reported cases of sexual assault and child abuse in Halton Region, ensuring victims and survivors are treated with dignity, respect and a trauma-informed approach
  • responds to reports of sexual assault, regardless of when the incident occurred, and supports victims of any age or gender
  • investigates child abuse cases involving serious injury, prior victimization, or suspects previously investigated for abuse
  • provides information to victims about reporting options, consent, and the investigative process
  • works closely with Halton Children’s Aid Society when child abuse or neglect is suspected or reported
  • encourages anyone in immediate danger to call 9-1-1 and supports access to community resources such as crisis lines and women’s shelters
