Description of Services: Ontario Lung Screening Program is a province-wide initiative aimed at identifying lung cancer early among individuals at high risk * through low-dose CT (computed tomography) scans, the program helps detect lung cancer before symptoms appear, improving outcomes and survival rates

Upon receiving a referral, the team will review the referral and contact the client to schedule an initial assessment * this initial assessment will determine the client's risk factor for developing lung cancer and will identify if a screening CT scan is required * the client is scheduled for a low-dose CT scan and depending on the results, the client may receive follow-up care or recommendations for future screenings




Fees: Medical services are covered by OHIP
Eligibility - Population(s) Served: People 55 to 80 years old and have smoked cigarettes everyday for at least 20 years
Application: Primary care providers or specialists can refer for lung cancer screening * People can also contact the main number to self refer and to be assessed for eligibility
