Description of Services: Hospital outpatient program to help patients with respiratory conditions * services include:
  • pulmonary function testing
  • diagnostic follow-up with respiratory software
  • airway clearance strategies using non-invasive techniques
  • non-invasive/invasive assisted ventilation
  • tracheostomy assessment
  • long-term oxygen therapy
  • inhaler optimization/education
  • liaison with healthcare professionals and respiratory vendors to support community care

Services provided by a respirologist and registered respiratory therapist

Maintenance level of rehabilitative care for patients working to prevent functional decline/injury or maintain functional performance

Fees: Covered by OHIP
Eligibility - Population(s) Served: People with neuromuscular conditions, spinal cord injuries, amputations, or acquired brain injuries that have affected their pulmonary function * people who have had a tracheostomy * people with chronic ventilator failure/bronchial hygiene clearance issues
