Description of Services: A service for people with disabilities who are unable to use conventional transit
  • residents must register to use the service and fulfill the eligibility requirements

  • service is supplemented with local taxi providers

Fees: None - As of May 1, 2025 care-A-van service will be free for all registered adult users with a PRESTO card
Eligibility - Population(s) Served: Any resident who has completed an application for the service and met the eligibility requirements (information provided in the application form will be used to determine eligibility)
Application:

  • application form is available online

  • applications must be certified by a medical practitioner and submitted for approval

  • once registered, passengers may book a ride via telephone with the care-A-van office, via automated phone, web, or app

  • registration can be on a temporary or permanent basis

  • Children, youth, adults and seniors ride free with a valid PRESTO card
