Description of Services: Safety from health hazards in the community:

  • West Nile Virus is transmitted to humans through the bite of an infected mosquito. Mosquitoes become infected by biting an infected bird. Diseases that are spread to humans and other animals by an insect or tick is called a vector-borne disease

  • Ticks and Lyme disease: is a bacterial illness that is spread to people and animals through tick bites. Only black-legged ticks (deer tick) can spread Lyme disease to people and animals
