Program: Community Bathing Program

Organization: Sheridan Villa - Long-Term Care Centre
Description of Services: Supports for older adults, and adults with disabilities * helps people remain independent in their own homes for as long as possible * each bathing appointment is for one-hour
  • helps individual who need assistance to bathe or who cannot use their own bathing facilities safely at home
  • supports caregivers who cannot help their loved ones to bathe at home because of their own physical or health limitations, their loved ones physical limitations, or inadequate bathroom facilities in their home
  • client has to arrange their own transportation to Sheridan Villa
  • appointments need to be made at least 24 hours in advance and are based on availability

Others services include:
  • hair washing
  • basic nail care for hands and feet
  • shaving
  • changing the dressings on minor wounds
  • monitoring weight
  • referral to community resources as required

Required for the appointment:
  • a change of clothing
  • shampoo, conditioner, soap and lotions used in your bath or shower
  • personal products such as razor, shaving cream, deodorant
  • wound dressing or treatments

Fees: $10 for a one-hour appointment * might be able to apply for subsidy to help with the cost
